Ms. Geiger,
I wanted to write you and thank you for sharing your advice in your book. I received a copy from my sister and brother-in-law for Christmas. I have dreamed of opening a home based baking business and your book has really inspired me to pursue my dream. Right now, I am a stay at home mom of a 4 year old and a 1 year old. I don't want to stop being a stay at home mom so right now, I am trying to compile recipes, a business plan, etc with the hope of baking full time once my children start school. All your advice was so helpful (I have already read your book twice!) especially the pricing, marketing and resource section. I also want to thank you for including some of you priceless recipes....I can't wait to try them. You suggested that a baker might want to specialize in a particular item or types of items. I am testing recipes to see what my specialty is. I do have a great cheesecake recipe that can be adapted into several different flavors. My only problem is that I cannot figure out a way to get the cheesecake off the bottom of the springform pan without the graham cracker crust breaking apart. Do you have any ideas on how I could go about this? Thank you again for sharing you knowledge with those of us who love to bake and are daring to pursue it as a livelihood. I wish you much success with your bakery and with your book! Jeanette, The Woodlands, TX
